I am a rhinoplasty and ENT surgeon, and I have been a fully qualified specialist ENT surgeon for more than ten years, and in medicine for more than twenty. I am a recognised specialist surgeon in ear, nose, and throat surgery, with specialised training in rhinoplasty surgery from both a functional and aesthetic background.
I am a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, FRACS (ORL-HNS), and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, FRCSI (ORL-HNS).
What to expect from the first visit
At the first appointment I will ask you to tell me what is concerning you.
I will then take a medical history related to those concerns and examine your nose, inside and out. This typically includes a telescope/camera test of the inside of the nose as well to assess function.
Part of the assessment also involves a number of questionnaires to explore the impact your nasal symptoms have on your day-to-day activities.
I will then tell you whether surgery is likely to help, and what it would involve and explain the benefits and considerations of this surgery.
After your first appointment you will be better informed about the next best steps to address your concerns and the outcomes you can realistically expect from surgery.
You will likely be provided with additional information about treatment options and should you wish to explore this further, a longer, second appointment will be scheduled.
What to bring to your first appointment
You will need to bring a referral from your GP for your first visit with me.
It would help if you can also bring a copy of your medical history or any other documents you feel might be relevant. If you have any copies of scans, bring those too or ask your GP to email them to us.
I offer video consultations for patients who live out of town, so you do not have to travel to Brisbane for every appointment. Where you can, a first consultation in person is ideal.
What the costs include
You will be given a written quote setting out the surgeon’s, anaesthetist’s and hospital fees, with expected rebates and out of pocket costs, before you decide whether to proceed. The initial consultation is charged separately, and post-operative follow-up is included. How fees and rebates work is set out on the cost page.
